The role involves providing outpatient primary care services to pediatric patients from infants through adolescence, managing acute and chronic illnesses, and offering guidance on development and nutrition. Providers will also engage in well-child care, sports physicals, and addressing complex medical and psychosocial issues within a diverse patient population.
Applicants must be a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) with current MN RN/APRN License and national board certification, or a Physician Assistant (PA) graduate from an accredited program with NCCPA certification and MN Medical Board license. Proficiency in Somali or Spanish is preferred, and lactation consultation certification (or commitment to obtain it within two years) is required.
The Minneapolis clinic is a hospital-based pediatric primary care clinic offering outpatient services to a population of patients (infants through adolescents) from urban and suburban areas of the surrounding metro areas. Families receiving care in the clinic speak a variety of primary languages.
The clinic provides a range of services, from well-child care to walk-in care, as well as educational and outreach programs. Providers care for children with complex medical and psychosocial issues, manage acute and chronic childhood illnesses, and provide parental guidance for childhood development and nutrition.
We offer wrap-around services in our clinic, including Integrated Behavioral Health providers, interpreter services, a clinical pharmacist on-site, access to Adolescent Health and Gender health providers, along with resource navigators through a program called Community Connect.
In the clinic, we see approximately 20,000 visits annually staffed by 9 physicians and 5 nurse practitioners.
Advanced practice providers provide a range of services, from well-child care, sports physicals, management of acute and chronic illnesses, and addressing nutritional, developmental, and behavioral concerns.
Providers should have a particular interest in providing trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and culturally competent care. Due to the diverse needs of the populations we serve, proficient in Somali or Spanish is preferred. Applicants must hold a lactation consultation certification from IBCLE or commit to obtaining certification within two years of starting their role. Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm (hours worked per week and schedule will depend on the applicant’s specific schedule preferences that fit within the clinic needs) APPs do not cover call
Current MN RN/APRN License. Nationally Board Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with either the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice preferred.
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Physician Assistant Certification by the NCCPA Certification Board and MN Medical Board license required.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
