The Respiratory Therapist administers medications and performs therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing for the cardio-pulmonary system. They respond to emergency situations and manage life support for patients.
Candidates must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and various certifications including BLS and RT. Two years of clinical experience in a medical center or similar setting is also required.
This position, independently or in consultation with a physician, administers medications, performs various types of therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing for and of the cardio-pulmonary system, responds to arrest and emergency situations and provides CPR and life support systems.
