• The Baylor Scott and White (BSW) Divisions of Psychology and Gastroenterology (GI) at the Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) seek a qualified and motivated GI Psychologist to join our team as an inaugural member of the Functional Bowel Center.
• The overall mission of this outpatient specialty center is to provide integrative health care to patients with digestive disorders, focusing on the brain-gut connection.
• The center will be a multispecialty enterprise providing team-based comprehensive digestive health care including clinicians, dieticians, physical therapists, and GI psychologists.
• In addition to the primary goal of improved clinical and health care outcomes, clinical research will be prioritized and conducted.
• Position Key Accountabilities: · The GI psychologist will play a critical role in ensuring the provision of GI Psychology best practices through providing · Consultation and comprehensive behavioral health care in this outpatient specialty care setting.
• The GI psychologist’s role will · Emphasize evidence-based, integrative clinical practice, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team committed · To provide excellent care for BSW patients’ medical and behavioral health needs.
• The ideal candidate should be skilled and experienced in providing psychological clinical services to patients with GI conditions and associated behavioral health concerns; consulting with Gastroenterologists and other team members for the management of patients with chronic functional GI conditions; and contributing to ongoing programmatic initiatives of the Divisions to support the advancement of integrative health care.
