The optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams, establish long-term patient relationships through care and education, and advise patients on remediation options for ametropias and eye diseases. Responsibilities also include performing vision tests, diagnosing sight problems, prescribing corrective lenses and medications, and evaluating patients for systemic diseases like diabetes.
Candidates must possess a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution and must have successfully passed all state optometric board examinations. The role requires the ability to practice to the full scope of the license and support practice growth.
