The Family Care Coordinator initiates the donation discussion and authorization process with potential donor families before, during, and after death declaration, while collaborating with hospital personnel and physicians. Key duties include assessing family dynamics, obtaining legal authorization for donation, visually assessing donors, and providing education to hospital staff regarding the donation process.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience in healthcare settings involving families, counseling, bereavement, or crisis intervention. Essential requirements include strong interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of medical/legal authorization principles, and a valid driver's license.
Sierra Donor Services is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) within the state of California – and is a member of the DCI Donor Services family.

The Family Care Coordinator will work 15 days per month and 24 hour on-call shifts.
