The Medical Assistant functions as part of an interdisciplinary team, collecting data, providing comfort, and delivering culturally sensitive care appropriate to the patient's developmental age. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, modifying treatments, reviewing health risks, discussing medications, and managing scheduling and supplies.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, with preference given to those with a business office or Medical Assistant program background or an Associate's degree. A Medical Assistant certification is required, along with up to one year of relevant on-the-job experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Under the leadership of the department Manager, Physician Services, the Medical Assistant is an active member of the Physician Services team that collects data and provides comfort measures and care to patients. The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing care that is appropriate for the patient’s developmental age and is culturally sensitive. The Medical Assistant formulates an appropriate plan for care and analyzes the effectiveness of interventions while effectively interacting with patients, families’ other medical office staff members. The Medical Assistant maintains standards of professional nursing.

A Medical Assistant certification required.
