The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing care under the direction of a physician or provider, implementing interventions necessary for optimal patient outcomes throughout the perianesthesia phase of care. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, administering and recording medications, performing routine assessments, managing pain, and providing safe transfer of care.
Candidates must demonstrate the necessary skills and judgment to implement nursing care and interventions, including knowledge of medication administration, pain assessment using appropriate scales, and care for pediatric and geriatric populations. Maintaining current knowledge, certification, and licensure, along with pursuing professional growth, is also required.
