The Vascular Technician performs noninvasive ultrasound examinations of cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to aid physicians in diagnosing circulation disorders. This role also involves recording test data, preparing preliminary interpretations, and educating patients during testing.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with graduation from an AMA-approved diagnostic ultrasound technology program. Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience performing vascular ultrasound testing and must obtain Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification within one year of employment.
Under general supervision, promotes effective laboratory function and tests quality in the administration and performance of various noninvasive vascular blood flow tests.
