The RN ER is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care within the Emergency Department. This includes triaging patients, administering treatments, and supervising personnel to ensure high-quality emergent nursing care.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current Texas RN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Two years of experience in an Emergency Department is preferred, along with the ability to meet demanding physical requirements.
Description Performs the primary duties of a professional nurse in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care in the Emergency Department areas. Manages supplies, and equipment, and supervises personnel in the areas and promotes team efforts with physicians and personnel of other departments.
Job qualifications: A.
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
Demonstrated ability in nursing practice. Requires effective oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
Current RN licensure by the State of Texas. BLS, ACLS and PALS required. TNCC required within 1 year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This is not an all-inclusive list of duties; however, it is a general description of the Regular duties of the Emergency Room Nurse. 1. Provide general and emergent nursing care to the patients in accordance to nursing standards.
2. Assess and triage patients based on acuity and assist other emergency department team members as needed.
3. Participates in Performance and Process Improvement for Department
4. Direct and guide LVN’s and other personnel to assist with care of patients within their scope of practice.
5. Administer prescribed medications and treatments and document all medications and treatments as ordered.
6. Facilitates admission and transfers both intra-hospital and with outlying facilities.
7. Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff and other ancillary departments regarding the treatment and care of all patients.
8. Orders, stock and ensures supplies are current within the department.
9. Float to other nursing departments to assist during increased census or emergency situations and perform basic nursing duties.
