The pharmacist is responsible for filling and dispensing medication orders, ensuring proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs, while maintaining departmental standards. They also act as an information resource for healthcare professionals and optimize patient medication therapy through comprehensive clinical pharmacy services.
The minimum requirement is a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution, along with a current or eligible Florida pharmacist license. Preferred experience includes one or more years as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting, and an advanced degree is also preferred.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders including the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy. Maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy. Responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information and literature. Plans and organizes work schedule of supportive personnel and pharmacists, as required. Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and the Pharmacy Director, optimizes patient medication therapy by providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services. Works collaboratively with the health care team to accomplish goals. Assignments may include but not limited to the following specialty areas: infectious disease, oncology, cardiovascular, medication safety, and Pharmacoeconomics.
