Key responsibilities include assisting mothers with Activities of Daily Living, parenting duties, medication administration, engaging in recreational activities, providing transportation, offering emotional support, and managing admissions and discharges.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license, with educational requirements ranging from a high school diploma plus one year of youth group experience to a degree in a related field.
Description The Center for Great Expectations (CGE) offers a continuum of care assisting pregnant and/or parenting mothers facing substance use and/or mental health disorders and often facing homelessness. Our trauma-informed approach is embedded throughout our “mommy and me” residential programs for adult and adolescent mothers and their children, our in-home/in-community program providing dedicated Clinicians, Case Manager/Doulas and Peer Recovery Specialists to support recovery, a Supportive Housing program with intensive case management services, on-site child development center in Somerset and an outpatient program for adult women and men. We share our expertise through The Institute which provides training and consultation.

CGE is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Mental Health Associates in our Adolescent Residential “Mommy and Me” Program to work with mothers and their children. This treatment program serves adolescent mothers with mental health disorders as well as assisting with their children.
In this vital role, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of mothers and their children. We are currently offering a range of positions, including full-time, part-time, and per diem roles, with flexible scheduling options. Typical shifts include mornings (7 am-3 pm), afternoons (3 pm-11 pm), and nights (11 pm-7 am).

A high school or high school equivalency diploma and one year of experience working with youth in a group setting, OR An associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field that is unrelated to social work or psychology and six months experience working with youth in a group setting, OR An associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or a related field. Current NJ driver's license needed; will be required to meet safe driving requirements. Must be 21 years or older. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with friendly and professional demeanor. Experience and comfort working within residential setting preferred. Team-player outlook. Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities. Ability to be flexible to the daily changing needs within the community and to handle obstacles with compassion and resolve.
