The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide high-quality primary care to pediatric and adult patients, developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with the care team and referring to specialists when necessary. Responsibilities also include maintaining efficient electronic medical records, partnering with the Behavioral Health team, and supporting performance improvement initiatives.
Candidates must possess the required degree and licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in emergency or urgent care settings. Essential soft skills include outstanding bedside manner, empathy, excellent communication, and a passion for serving under-served populations, with Spanish bilingualism being required.
English and Spanish. Minimum of 2 years relevant experience; experience working in emergency, urgent care or walk-in clinic desirable. Outstanding “bedside manners”: patient-centric with empathy, excellent active listening and communication skills, engaging and efficient. Outstanding clinical capabilities and judgment. Focused on collaborative team-based care. Responsive and capable of working in a high accountability environment. Comfort level with using an electronic health record. Flexible. Excellent judgment and ability to prioritize resources where they will be most useful. Comfortable receiving and providing constructive feedback. Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement. Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with a culturally diverse patient and staff population. Passionate about providing high quality primary health care to low-income, under-served residents and those lacking access to health care.
