The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for facilitating the recovery of speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive function for patients in the facility. This includes creating and administering individualized treatment plans and instructing clients in effective communication techniques.
Candidates must possess a current Speech Language Pathologist License in the current state and current CPR certification. A minimum of one year of Skilled Nursing experience is preferred for this role.
Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist: Creating, administering and organizing individualized plans of treatment for patients. Instructing clients in techniques for more effective communication, including sign language, lip reading and voice improvement. Educating patients and family members about various topics such as communication techniques and strategies to cope with or to avoid personal misunderstandings. Communicating with the dietary department in regard to rehabilitation lunches for patients with swallow dysfunctions.
