The sonographer will perform routine 2D/Doppler echocardiograms, stress echo studies, and various vascular exams while ensuring accurate documentation and billing codes are used within the EMR system. They are also responsible for providing quality patient care, maintaining equipment, and adhering to departmental QA and accreditation processes.
Candidates must possess credentials in both Echocardiology (RDCS or RCS) and Vascular Technology (RVT or RVS) from ARDMS or CCI, along with current BLS certification. A minimum of two years of experience is preferred for this full-time position.
Performs routine 2D/Doppler echocardiograms, stress echo studies and vascular exams (procedures include but are not limited to carotid, arterial, venous for DVT and venous for Reflux). Other duties may be assigned by supervisor. Familiar with EMR to ensure the correct test is ordered, accurately input the correct billing codes for the test, and prepares preliminary echocardiogram and vascular reports with measurements for physicians. Adequately explain the test to the patient and provide quality patient care. Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts Technical Support for major malfunctions. Knowledge and routine use of digital image storage system and associated workflow software. Must adhere to the protocols and actively participate in the departmental QA program and accreditation process. Maintain CME’s, CPR, and registries necessary to perform job duties as a registered sonographer. Follows HIPAA policies and procedures. Respects and maintains patient confidentiality Adheres to the company’s mission statement and core values.
