The Certified Medical Assistant promotes patient well-being by managing physical, psychological, spiritual, social, and educational needs through interaction and coordination with staff and physicians. Primary duties include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, processing messages, scheduling appointments and procedures, and educating patients on various care aspects.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program and possess current CMA (or MA) and CPR certifications. Required experience includes one year in a medical office setting, preferably in a clinical setting within a medical practice.
Promote the well-being of the patients at IMA by considering all aspects of patient care which encompasses the patient’s physical, psychological, spiritual, social and educational needs. Interaction and coordination of efforts with other employees and physicians in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Patient Care & Rooming Escort patients to exam rooms Take and record vital signs (height, weight, etc.) Collect patient history and chief complaints Prepare charts, labs, and reports for providers Patient Communication Answer and triage calls and messages Prioritize urgent vs. routine concerns Document patient information in the medical record Coordinate with providers and clinical staff Clinical & In-Office Support Assist providers during exams and procedures Schedule appointments and follow-ups Provide patient education (medications, diet, etc.) Communicate with pharmacies and outside providers Administrative Support Maintain accurate documentation Support scheduling and workflow needs Monitor patient flow and feedback Assist with Greenway Intergy EHR system
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program Current CMA/MA certification Current CPR certification 1+ year medical office experience (preferred) Strong medical terminology knowledge Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting Strong communication skills Typing speed ~60 WPM (preferred) EHR experience (Greenway Intergy preferred)
