The role involves performing and interpreting a wide range of imaging studies, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound, while providing consultation to referring physicians. Additionally, the radiologist must ensure accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement activities.
Candidates must be Board Certified in Radiology with an active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory. Required technical skills include proficiency across relevant radiologic modalities and competency in EMR systems, alongside the ability to meet VA credentialing requirements.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties (Approx. 95%) Perform and interpret a wide range of imaging studies, including: X-ray / Diagnostic Radiology Ultrasound Computed Tomography (CT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Nuclear Medicine Interventional Radiology procedures Provide consultation to referring physicians on appropriate imaging utilization Communicate test results to providers and patients in a timely manner Review consults/orders and next-day cases (minimum 2 hours daily) Perform post-procedure follow-ups and manage complications (IR roles) Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with VA standards Administrative & Quality Duties (Approx. 5%) Participate in: Quality Improvement (QI) and Performance Improvement (PI) activities Peer reviews (~4 hours/month) Staff and committee meetings Complete QA/QI documentation for procedures and outcomes Maintain compliance with patient safety and infection control standards Report patient safety events within required timelines On-Call Responsibilities Provide after-hours coverage: Weekdays: 4:30 PM – 8:00 AM Weekends: Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 8:00 AM Availability requirements: Respond within 15 minutes by phone Onsite within 60 minutes if required Work Schedule Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM On-Call Rotation: Evenings, weekends, and holidays Required Qualifications Licensure Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory No history of license suspension, restriction, or revocation Board Certification Board Certified in Radiology through the American Board of Radiology Technical Requirements Proficiency across radiologic modalities relevant to specialty Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills Ability to communicate effectively in English Competency in EMR systems and radiology reporting Additional Requirements Ability to meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements Provide documentation of: Education and training history Certifications and licensure Clinical competency and experience Adherence to VA Medical Staff Bylaws and facility policies Why Join Venesco, LLC?
