The ICU Technician provides delegated clinical and non-clinical support to Registered Nurses in the Intensive Care Unit, assisting with direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, and supporting unit operations. This role involves performing tasks such as assisting with ADLs, mobility support, specimen collection, and serving as a monitor technician under RN supervision.
Candidates should preferably have completed a Patient Care Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Medical Assistant program, and are required to have 0-1 years of experience in a hospital or critical care setting. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory, while a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
The ICU Technician provides high-quality, patient-centered support within the Intensive Care Unit by performing delegated clinical and non-clinical tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role assists with the delivery of direct patient care, monitors vital signs and basic diagnostic data, and supports ICU operations to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient care environment. The ICU Technician contributes to improved patient outcomes by supporting the critical care team in meeting the unique needs of high-acuity patients.
