An Occupational Therapist assists patients in minimizing disability and developing skills for increased independent functioning, planning and implementing prevention, habilitation, or rehabilitation services. The role involves evaluating and treating patients of all ages in the acute medical setting to help them reach their highest level of independence in activities of daily living.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program, with a Master's or Doctorate preferred, and must possess an active Missouri licensure for Occupational Therapy, as limited permits are not accepted. Required skills include good clinical expertise, communication, human relations, and organizational skills, along with demonstrated interest in professional growth.
