The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs laboratory tests on patient specimens to provide information for disease diagnosis, treatment, or prevention, while maintaining performance records and ensuring results meet quality control standards. This role may also involve participating in research, acting as a key resource, and instructing staff on laboratory procedures and techniques.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences and have at least one year of relevant experience. Certification or eligibility for board certification by ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent is required, with certification needing to be obtained within 12 months of employment.
