The sonographer is responsible for providing quality patient care across all age groups, from neonatal to geriatric, adhering to departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Key functions include accurately performing all necessary ultrasound studies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with hospital standards and HIPAA regulations.
Candidates must have successfully passed the ARDMS and Vascular registries, and these certifications must be current. No minimum work experience or other specific licenses/certifications are explicitly required beyond the necessary professional credentials.
The sonographer is responsible for patient care from neonatal to geriatric ages. This position is responsible for related duties to provide quality care dictated by departmental and hospital policies and procedures. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education: The technologist must have had met the criteria required to take the ARDMS and Vascular registries and have passed them. Their registries must be current. Minimum Work Experience: None Required Licenses/Certifications: None Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: None Preferred Qualification: None JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS 1. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan. 2. Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct. 3. Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs. 4. Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program. 5. Complies with all HIPAA standards. 6. Accurately performs all necessary preparation for all studies. 7. Consistently obtains quality sonograms using the knowledge of ultrasouond procedures and technical contraints of the ultrasound equipment. 8. Ensures that all vascular studies are performed in an accurate and timely manner. 9. Consistently prepares and maintains all ultrasound equipment including probes, gels and ultrasound machines. 10. Assures that the ultrasound room is always clean and well stocked. 11. Always prepares and maintains a record of the patient's name, date of birth, exam and clinitician. Checks the requisition for completeness of informaton regarding the patient and the test ordered. 12. Assists in other areas where trained and as needed. Performs any other duties to fill the needs of the department, hospital and its patients. 13. Current CPR.
