The Respiratory Therapist assesses, treats, and cares for patients experiencing breathing disorders by initiating and conducting therapeutic procedures. This role involves maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring the proper selection, assembly, checking, and operation of necessary respiratory equipment.
Candidates must possess an Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences, along with maintaining licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Florida Department of Health and current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. Advanced clinical skills, including expertise in various ventilatory supports and resuscitation, are expected, potentially including roles as a preceptor or educator.
