The assistant will prepare stress rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, position patients and equipment, and operate diagnostic equipment like EKG and treadmills. Duties also include scheduling tests, giving injections, managing supplies, and monitoring NUC/PET schedules.
A completion of a Medical Assistant program is required for this role. Prior experience in cardiac settings is preferred but not mandatory.
Prepares stress rooms for procedures Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts Position patients and equipment Cleans and disinfects instruments Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test Schedule patients for tests Gives injections or treatments Screens telephone calls/emails Preps and perform Treadmill stress tests for patients Monitors NUC/PET schedules to maintain full schedules Start IVs and run nuclear cameras Travel is required between clinics Other related duties may be assigned Requirements: Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required Knowledge in medical terminology Cardiac Experience is preferred but not required About Tucson, AZ: Located in Pima county, Tucson is considered the soul of the Sonoran Desert and the flavor of the Southwest, making it a hotspot for outdoor enthusiasts.
