The Counselor is responsible for maintaining a caseload, providing supportive case management services to HASA-funded residents, developing service plans, and ensuring residents are linked to necessary healthcare providers. Duties also include conducting counseling, crisis intervention, facilitating groups, monitoring rent payments, and compiling substance abuse resources.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a relevant field, with at least three years of experience in substance abuse counseling. A CASAC certification or LCSW license is strongly preferred, along with at least one year of experience working with populations experiencing homelessness, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, or mental illness.

We are seeking a Case Manager/Substance Abuse Counselor for The Doe Fund's newest permanent supportive housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. The program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. Forty-one units will be allocated for residents referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) and twenty-seven apartments will be for adults referred by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).
The Case Manager/Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for providing supportive case management services to the HASA-funded residents. The successful candidate will have strong clinical and communication skills along with an understanding of working with the HIV/AIDS population.
