The Dental Assistant collaborates with dental providers to ensure high-quality patient care by managing room setup, preparing patients for treatment, documenting in the electronic dental record, and adhering to infection prevention practices. Key duties include preparing instrument trays, sterilizing instruments, assisting with procedures, taking radiographs, and maintaining operatory cleanliness.
Required qualifications include one year of experience, though education may substitute for lack of experience, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 90 days. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, along with basic skills certification and graduation from a dental assisting program.

Dental Assistant responsibilities include setting up and breaking down room and equipment, preparing patient for treatment, documenting in the electronic dental record, preparing laboratory cases, proper infection prevention practices, and other duties as assigned.
