The Medical Scribe assists the Doctor of Ophthalmology and/or Optometry by accurately documenting patient exams in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), ensuring billing documentation is submitted, and partnering with clinical staff for efficient patient flow and quality care. Key duties include scribing all exam elements, providing patient education, managing prescriptions, and maintaining exam room readiness.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and no previous experience is necessary, making it a great opportunity for future medical students. Preferred qualifications include one year of experience in direct patient care or as a scribe, along with strong communication skills and excellent typing ability.
