Calaway-Young Cancer Center | Valley View Hospital Glenwood Springs, Colorado | Regional Western Slope Practice
Valley View Hospital is seeking a Medical Oncologist to join the Calaway-Young Cancer Center, a Commission on Cancer (CoC)–accredited program serving patients across Colorado’s Western Slope.
This is a unique opportunity to practice high-quality, relationship-based oncology within an independent, physician-aligned health system committed to access, collaboration, and long-term sustainability.
This position represents one of two medical oncologists supporting the Calaway-Young Cancer Center. Both physicians practice general medical oncology, without site-specific disease requirements, allowing for shared coverage, flexibility, and comprehensive care across tumor types while maintaining strong multidisciplinary support.
Care is delivered through a combination of on-site services at Valley View Hospital and coordinated partnerships with regional facilities, supported by strong clinical infrastructure and care coordination.
The Calaway-Young Cancer Center operates within a fully integrated, multidisciplinary care model. Medical oncologists collaborate closely with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, breast surgery, nurse navigation, infusion services, and survivorship, with routine participation in a general tumor board to support coordinated, evidence-based care.
The program includes in-house plastic and reconstructive surgery, allowing for seamless coordination of combined breast surgical and reconstructive cases. This integrated approach supports timely care planning, enhances patient experience, and enables close collaboration across disciplines for both oncologic and reconstructive decision-making.
In addition, the Cancer Center maintains a collaborative partnership with UCHealth hematology physicians, providing access to specialty consultation and shared expertise for complex hematologic conditions. This partnership strengthens clinical depth while allowing patients across the Western Slope to receive high-quality, coordinated cancer care close to home.
Valley View is a qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program!
This position will be open for a minimum of three days and until a top applicant is identified.
