The Speech Language Pathologist will provide diagnostic and rehabilitative services to patients of all ages concerning speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive disorders to maximize functional ability and improve quality of life. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, consulting with staff and families, and participating in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology and meet specific licensure/certification requirements, including a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology and Basic Life Support/CPR. A minimum of one year of clinical experience is required to practice without supervision, or less if practicing under supervision.
UPMC Home Health is hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist for Williamsport, Lock Haven, Jersey Shore, Renovo, Beech Creek, Cogan Station, Trout Run, and occasionally Wellsboro if needed.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Provide diagnostic and rehabilitative services to people of all ages with regard to speech, language, voice, swallowing, cognitive disorders, and dysfunctions to maximize functional ability and improve quality of life.

Identify, develop, and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency that will enhance the quality of services we provide. Perform duties and job responsibilities in a fashion that coincides with the service management philosophy of UPMC Home Healthcare towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians, and other departments within the organization. Continually develop professional skills by assuming responsibility for ongoing continuing education. Advise and consult with the family, interdisciplinary staff members, physicians, and other professionals about normal and difficult communication and swallowing, and specific patient care. Maintain and complete all documentation promptly and accurately, including visit assessment, OASIS, 485, and Verbal Orders on the laptop device or in written documentation while in the patient's home and within the agency and regulatory standards. Data syncs (transmits) information the same day. Patient care-evaluation, therapy, teaching, and counseling - provide complete and accurate speech, language, voice, and swallowing evaluation, therapy, instruction, and counseling for infants through geriatrics.
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology required. One (1) year clinical experience in Speech Pathology to practice without supervision or less than one (1) year if practicing under supervision, i.e., ALF/PCH.
Licensure/Certification: Automotive Insurance EditClin Competency Certificate, Basic Life Support, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, Driver's License, Speech Pathologist Lic/Cert Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology.CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
