Description Job Overview Seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in home and community care, assisted living, or long-term care settings, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives.
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide patient observation to monitor health status and respond appropriately to changes Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts while ensuring safety protocols Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light cleaning duties Monitor vital signs and report any concerns to healthcare professionals Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs Support residents during recreational activities and social engagement to promote mental well-being Follow all safety procedures including CPR and First Aid protocols
Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care is highly preferred Knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, Alzheimer’s/dementia/memory care, autism support, hospice care, and long-term care practices Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or complex health conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety oversight Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility using specialized equipment Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills for working with residents and team members Valid driver’s license is preferred for community-based support roles This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those needing dedicated caregiving support while working within a respectful and professional environment.
