The Histology Technician processes tissue samples for histological diagnosis, including grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining slides. Additional responsibilities include complying with policies and standards and maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI).
An Associate's Degree in biological or chemical science and certification specific to CLIA '88 for high complexity testing is required. A Bachelor's Degree in the same fields is also required, along with HT or HT Eligible certification.
