The Surgical Technologist sets up the sterile field, gathers necessary supplies, and passes instruments to surgeons during procedures. They also perform count procedures, provide emotional support to patients, and act as a preceptor for less experienced staff.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of a surgical technology, military, or LPN program. A minimum of 6 months of experience and current certification as a CST, TS-C, or CORST is required.
