The Surgical Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field, assembling necessary instruments, and anticipating the surgeon's needs during procedures. They also ensure accurate accounting of medications, sharps, and sponges to maintain patient safety.
Candidates must be a graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited or military surgical tech program with a BLS certification. A certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery Certified (TSC) is required or preferred.
