The Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory treatments, manages ventilators and airway systems, and performs pulmonary diagnostics in an acute care setting. They also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement patient-specific care plans and respond to emergency events like code blues.
Candidates must hold an RRT certification from the NBRC and an active Illinois RCP license or the ability to obtain one. Additional requirements include BLS certification, with ACLS and PALS certifications required within 60 days of hire.
Overview Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Chicago, IL | Sign-On Bonus + Relocation Assistance
$1,332 – $1,792.80 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12-hour) schedule; equivalent to $37.00 – $49.80 per hour.
Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management) Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs) Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans Document care in the EMR Respond to code blue and rapid response events Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $37.00 to $49.80 per hour.
