The Wound Care Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients with wounds, ostomies, or skin concerns, which involves comprehensive assessments, developing care plans, and implementing treatments like negative pressure therapy. This role also requires educating patients and staff, serving as a clinical resource for complex wound management, and maintaining regulatory documentation.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license, and possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. A minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in wound care, is required, along with demonstrated clinical expertise and strong communication skills.
