The Licensed Practical Nurse will assist physicians with patient examinations, screenings, and treatments while maintaining clinical equipment and supplies. They also handle patient inquiries and coordinate necessary referrals or hospitalizations.
Candidates must be graduates of a nursing school and hold a valid West Virginia nursing license. Prior professional experience in a nursing role is required.
Greets patients and prepares them for physician’s examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance within the scope of the licensed practical nursing standards. Maintains and assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Handles telephone inquiries from patients regarding test results, medications and treatment instructions as directed by the physician. Arranges for hospitalization, referrals, or performance of special procedures for patients. Maintains a clean, attractive work area and keeps clinical areas stocked with appropriate medical supplies. Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments, surgical trays, etc. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Graduate of a school of nursing and valid WV license required.
