HOURS: Mainly M-F dayshift with call, rotating holiday and weekends. Occasional coverage at Giles Hospital. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain images and test results. Administers diagnostic and therapeutic doses to patients under the direction of an authorized user by IV, inhalation and ingestion. Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures, correlating patient history with test to be performed. May assist with scheduling, registration, image management and computer processing for patients. Evaluates, prepares and observes patients with professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety. Interacts with other staff, patients, physicians, families, family members/visitors, management, ancillary departments and general public. Interacts with patients, families and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care. Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to age and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures. Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned. Enhances personal and professional growth through participating in educational opportunities.

Require:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a CAHEA School of Radiologic Technology and/or CAHEA School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
Experience
Experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by NMTCB or ARRT. AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
Other minimum qualifications: Must apply knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served. Must have knowledge of radiopharmacy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Maintains Nuclear Medicine certification. Obtains required CEUs per certification board.
