The Speech Pathologist is responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations for patients with communication disorders or oropharyngeal dysphagia. They also plan and implement speech-language pathology treatment programs to restore function and prevent disability.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders and possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA. Additionally, a valid Georgia state license and BLS certification are required.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Coordinating, consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia; and interpreting assessment data; planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Master?s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders from an accredited graduate school. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:None. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Licensure by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Speech/Language Pathology. BLS certification through AHA. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:None. Business
