• Summary: Under limited supervision, works with family’s to understand the family’s individual situation. They assist the family in identifying both the long and short-term goals of the individual and family. Assists the family in gaining access to resources that will meet the identified needs through a variety of community services, other public programs or the Family Support Program. The Recovery Support Clubhouse is designed to provide support for youth as they strive to improve their life and wellness while decreasing or abstaining from alcohol and/or substance use. Members and staff work together to perform tasks at the clubhouse. The youth participate in life skills groups, social outings, educational supports, career development/exploration, and other activities that teach them how to maintain a healthy and sober lifestyle. Youth are connected to resources that will empower them to make informed decisions about their recovery.
• Essential
• Functions: Clubhouse Recovery Support Family Advocate shall offer a parental/caregiver participation component (other than telephone calls or one-to-one meetings with parents) a minimum of once per month. This component includes but is not limited to parent support groups, parenting skills, substance abuse education or an evidence-based parenting program for parents of youth with substance use issues, or a similar type of meeting led by a facilitator. Parents/caregivers who participate in onsite at the clubhouse can also participate in off-site activities. Clubhouse Family Advocate should maintain documentation of efforts to invite families to such events and efforts to encourage participation. · Work with families to decrease substance use. · Decrease DJJ involvement. · Develop Family Support Plans to decrease behavioral problems. · Engage youth and family to increase positive social function. · Conduct monthly drug urine screens. · Utilize interventions to increase school attendance and performance. · Develop two pro-social events monthly that improve family involvement and relationships. · Provide off-Site Social Activity Examples include but not limited to movies, bowling, paintball, skating, local park or recreational center, Aquarium, Coco-Cola Museum, Amusement Park, College Tour, etc. · Complete all necessary paperwork. · Enter information into the Carelogic and GSU systems. · Advocate for the family when appropriate. · Provide advice and support to the families as needed and requested, including being available to listen to problems and concerns as well as successes and gains. · Access community resources, information, and referral services. · Develop partnerships and community collaboration to increase resources for families. · Conducts the following services, supports, care and treatment, including but not limited to: 1. Overseeing the services, supports, care and treatment provided to individuals; 2. Supervising the formulation of individual recovery plan; 3. Maintain records of service provision for each Individual in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations; 4. Implementing assessment, care and treatment activities as defined in professional practice acts; and 5. Supervising high intensity services such as screening or evaluation, assessment.

• Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent, demonstrate an aptitude or have experience in a social service field. Must possess a valid GA Driver’s license.

• Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some minor travel between Gateway sites is required.
• Physical
• Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer. Employee frequently uses fine hand/eye coordination, hearing and visual acuity. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant condition caused by noise, dust, etc. Employee must be able to travel between Gateway sites.
