Performs a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and neonatal studies, while providing clinical supervision to students and residents. Ensures high-quality patient care, maintains departmental safety standards, and provides preliminary verbal reports to physicians.
Requires a New York State License as an Ultrasound Technologist and at least one year of experience performing ultrasound examinations. Candidates must possess training in ultrasound systems and basic computer knowledge.
Overview Performs ultrasound exams (including on portable equipment) of abdomen, pelvis, major vessels, small parts (including breast, thyroid, testicular, popliteal, pyloric stenosis and appendicitis studies) and neonatal brains. Instructs and provides clinical supervision to ultrasound students and Radiology residents in specific area of expertise. Gives verbal preliminary reports of sonogram results to M.D.
