The MRI Technician is responsible for performing MRI procedures and providing patient care while ensuring optimal image quality. They must exercise independent judgment and initiative to maintain patient welfare, confidentiality, and comfort during diagnostic interventions.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology. Registration with the ARRT and in MRI is required within one year of hire, along with current BLS certification.
High school diploma or equivalent Bachelor of Science degree is preferred but not required. Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 1 year of hire. Registered in MRI within 1 year of hire. If unable to meet exam requirements, then must meet with manager to make arrangements to fulfill exam requirements in order to obtain MRI One year of experience under a Board-Certified Radiologist preferred. Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty (ies) as appropriate. Current BLS certification upon hire or BLS certification must be obtained during orientation period or at next available scheduled class. Throughout employment, current BLS certification must be maintained by renewal during renewal period or at next available scheduled class. OCH is an Equal Opportunity Employer
