The Pharmacy Technician assists with compounding and dispensing medical prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They are also responsible for managing inventory, entering data into computer systems, and performing clerical duties.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma and possess a valid Louisiana/Mississippi Board of Pharmacy Technician Certificate. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions are required.
The Pharmacy Technician 1, under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists with compounds and dispensing medical prescriptions and may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. The position is expected to receive and store incoming supplies, verify stock and enter data into the computer to maintain inventory records, and is expected to meet state certifications. The position requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Pharmacy and relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
