The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality mammographic examinations and specialized procedures such as biopsies and needle localizations. They also ensure equipment maintenance and perform daily quality assurance testing in compliance with regulatory standards.
Candidates must hold an Associate Degree in a healthcare-related field and be ARRT registered or registry-eligible in mammography. The role requires Basic Life Support certification and the ability to meet MQSA training requirements.
This position is responsible for producing high quality mammographic images and all special examinations necessary, i.e., needle localizations, radiography of specimens, spot magnifications and stereotactic biopsies. This position is also responsible for performing quality assurance activities as established by the department and regulatory agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
ARRT - Reg Radiologic Technologist Required Equivalent Experience - Knowledge of radiologic technique as normally acquired through completion of a JRCERT approved school of Radiologic Technology, ARRT M - Mammographer Required Equivalent Experience - Obtain ARRT mammography certification within one year of hire date. If not mammography registered, meet the MQSA initial mammography training requirements of 40 hours of mammography continuing education credits within 2 months of hire and performance of 25 mammograms under direct supervision of a qualified mammographer Meet continuing requirements of documentation of 15 hours of continuing education credits in mammography during the last three years BLS - Basic Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - Within 1 month of hire or transfer
Education: Associates Degree
Degree in Healthcare Related Field. Knowledge of radiologic technique as normally acquired through completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. ARRT registered or registry eligible in mammography within 6 months of hire required.
