As a Locum NP/PA, you will play a crucial role in assisting with patient care, preoperative assessments, and postoperative follow-ups in the cardiothoracic surgery department. This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients and will involve collaboration with a team of experienced healthcare providers dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
Assist in preoperative and postoperative patient care Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately Provide patient education and support throughout their surgical journey Participate in daily rounds and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings Ensure compliance with all medical protocols and standards Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Associate degree in Nursing or relevant field Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related specialties Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems Commitment to providing compassionate patient care Level I Trauma
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-4p
Overnight call shifts
Duties: Operative first assist and EVH for cardiothoracic cases
Support Staff: CVOR rad techs, nurses, circulating and scrub nurses, CVOR anesthesia
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
