The Advanced Practice Provider will manage hematology/oncology patients in a rapid assessment clinic, exercising autonomous decision-making for diagnosis and treatment. They will work collaboratively with faculty, pharmacists, and nurses to provide urgent care for malignancy symptoms and treatment toxicities.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, along with appropriate state licensure and certifications. Previous experience in oncology, urgent care, or emergency medicine is preferred.
Join the University of Chicago Medicine as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for our Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC).
The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management and will manage patients by exercising autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. The APP will provide healthcare and patient services that may include educational, research, and clinical support, as well as administrative activities under the direction and supervision of the Cancer Service Line leadership. The APP has acquired the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to deliver high quality care to hematology/oncology patients.
