The Central Processing Technician is responsible for conducting lab testing, handling and labeling specimens, and performing blood draws for patients and new hires. Additionally, the role involves clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, and managing patient reports.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. Knowledge of hospital safety and infection control regulations is required, while a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
The Central Processing Technician is an essential member of the Laboratory services team conducting all patient and new hire lab testing.
