The Emergency Room Nurse is responsible for assessing patient chief complaints and prioritizing care based on the severity of illness or injury. They must provide quality patient care in a high-stress environment while adhering to hospital and ED policies.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school and hold a current South Carolina nursing license. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with priority given to those with prior ED or critical care experience.
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Current SC Nursing License or Multi-state license or temporary SC license, BLS, ACLS and PALS are required. Certification in TNCC is preferred. (Upon initial hire, employee has six months to obtain ACLS and PALS). Must complete NIMS Training, IS100, IS200 and IS700a within the first 90 days of hire or transfer to the ER or provide completion certificate. http://training.fema.gov/IS/NIMS.asp
