The surgical technician provides direct support to surgeons during procedures by positioning patients, managing instruments, and controlling bleeding. They also assist in closing surgical sites and collaborate with the medical team to ensure proper post-operative care.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of a certified surgical technician program and a recognized first assistant training program. At least one year of experience as a surgical tech and a valid BLS certification are required.
