The Pharmacy Technician performs pharmaceutical procedures for medication preparation and distribution to ensure safe and effective therapy. They are responsible for interpreting and transcribing orders, managing billing and records, and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.
Candidates must be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy and have previous pharmacy experience. Certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred, or must be obtained within one year of hire.
Performs pharmaceutical procedures for medication preparation and distribution that ensures safe, effective, and cost efficient medication therapy. Exercises sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to provide pharmaceutical support to the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department.
Required Currently licensed as a Pharmacy Technician by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Previous pharmacy experience required. Preferred Experience with Epic electronic medical record and Rx30 pharmacy system Certification as a pharmacy technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). If not currently, must become certified within 1 year of hire.
