The Medical Assistant is responsible for managing clinic patient flow, assisting physicians during examinations, and performing diagnostic procedures. They also obtain vital signs, document information in electronic medical records, and administer medications as directed.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant school, and current certification/registration. A minimum of one year of prior experience and current CPR/AED certification are required.
To assist physicians, nurses, and patients by providing ambulatory medical care services. Responsible for clinic patient flow, informing physicians of patients’ arrival and room assignment.

As members of the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences faculty, MFA providers are teachers and mentors for medical students, residents, fellows, and researchers preserving the rich tradition of academics, research, and healing.
