The Physician Assistant is responsible for diagnosing patients, ordering diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications within a bariatric practice. Additionally, they provide first assistance in the OR, perform suturing, and maintain detailed patient medical records.
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant and be Board Certified with a valid state license to practice medicine. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and Infectious Disease certification.

Interviewing, examining, and diagnosing patients’ illnesses Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests Prescribing medications and suggesting lifestyle changes Suturing skills, first assisting in the OR Reviewing and maintaining patients’ medical histories and records and recording patients’ progress Educating and counseling patients and their families Researching the latest treatments, innovations, advances and trends in the bariatric field Clinical training experience and the willingness to complete 100 hours of continuing education every two years to maintain certification A state license to practice Medicine Strong analytical and technical skills Detail oriented with good problem-solving skills Excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills The ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy
