Chemical/Container Preparation Assistant

• Chemical/Container Preparation Assistant supports the clinical and development laboratories by preparing reagents, performing quality checks of laboratory water, performs pipette verification and other support functions.
• Works with biohazardous chemicals.
• Supports the clinical and development laboratories by preparing container/kits, performs quality checks of the containers, and works with small amounts of chemicals.
• Responsible for the prioritizing, scheduling, and delivery routes of containers.
• Washes and sterilizes laboratory glassware and equipment that are contaminated with biological waste.
• Provides pick-up and return of processed items to laboratories using carts to move glassware throughout the building and to other locations on campus.
• Decontaminates biological waste for the department.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Works in all areas and other assignments as defined by the Laboratory Supervisor.

**Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic**
